Program Philosophy

The Master of Arts Program in Applied Linguistics – English for Professional Purposes, Faculty of Liberal Arts, aims to produce graduates with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and experience in English for professional applications. The curriculum emphasizes modern instructional methodologies, including Active Learning, Project-based Learning, Problem-based Learning, Research-based Learning, Outcome-based Learning, and Learner-centered Instruction. Through both theoretical and practical approaches—including rigorous research—graduates are empowered to effectively apply their linguistics expertise to enhance professional development and contribute to national progress.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a higher education institution accredited by the Ministry of Education. Admission is subject to the Graduate Program Committee's approval based on the following criteria:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in English or a related field with a minimum cumulative GPA (GPAX) of 2.50.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any field with a minimum cumulative GPA (GPAX) of 2.50 and a minimum GPA of 2.75 in English-related courses.
